I was born and raised in Limestone County. After having the opportunity to play collegiate baseball, I moved back to this great part of our state. During college I surrendered to Gods call to preach, sharing this call with my family, their full support was shown from the beginning. Soon after moving back home, I met the girl of my dreams, Shea. We were married on 13 August 2005. 18 months later, Sophya joined our family. During this time, God allowed us to hear and understand the call to be a pastor at Cherry Grove Baptist Church. This was the most exciting time of our young married lives. Within a couple years, Raegan was born and this “bubbly baby girl” rounded out our perceived complete family. Serving at Cherry Grove saw growth and relationships built that have lasted. Our next call was to Clements Baptist church to serve as Campus Pastor for “The Creek”. Impact and ministry relationships all grew during the opportunity to serve God at The Creek. While serving at The Creek, GOD grew our family! Oliver came to live with us 16 days after being born. Although he was not our biological son, he grew in our hearts through the leading of the Holy Spirit towards adoption. It was through much prayer, anguish, fasting, tears, heartache, joy, celebration, and ultimately Gods perfect coordination, He became Henry Oliver Pirtle on 11 Aug 2021. Now our family truly was complete in Gods eyes and plan. In 2022, God made it clear that we were to move our ministry and energy to First Union Baptist Church in Athens. Here, we are growing and going, always full of excitement, energy and expectation of what GOD will do next!
I spend the majority of my free time watching my kids do what they love: Golf for the oldest, softball for the middle, and anything to do with tractors with the youngest. I love being outside, as sitting in front of a screen, drains me. I love to Hunt (I am obsessed with chasing any waterfowl), fish, hike, kayak or just be busy outside. The love of my life is my helpmate, I cherish her, she is my best friend and I would be nothing without the support of the best pastors wife I know. I love people, I love to be around people, and I want to bring the energy that God has given me to everyone I know. I pray everyday that God will use me, my family, our ministry and this church to impact 1 more person: Today I hope that is you!!! I look forward to meeting you soon!
